Classical Guitar Concert at Ramshorn

...Tuesday Lunchtime Music at the Ramshorn continues on Tuesday 9 June with The World of the Guitar, presented by Peter Argondizza, featuring Spanish and Latin American music (Villa Lobos, Manuel de Falla and Albeniz), Mauro Giuliani’s two arrangements of Scottish melodies, and more recently written works.

Peter Argondizza, a regular visitor to Tuesday Lunchtime Music at the Ramshorn, has played with the Hebrides Ensemble and many of the country’s leading orchestras, and has commissioned and premiered works by Sally Beamish, Edward McGuire, Thomas Wilson, Stephen Davismoon and Rory Boyle. Recent concerto performances include Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez and Malcolm Arnold’s Guitar Concerto. He is the founder of the Glasgow Guitarfest weekend at the University of Strathclyde which is now the Big Guitar Weekend collaboration with the RSAMD. His first CD “…from the hook to the hill” is now available on itunes.

Please note that this will be the last performance of the 2008-2009 season of Tuesday Lunchtime Music at the Ramshorn.

Tuesday 26 May, 1.15 to 2.00pm, Ramshorn Theatre, 98 Ingram Street. Doors open 12.45pm: tea/coffee on sale. Please feel free to enjoy your snack lunch whilst listening to the music and, if you are pressed for time, to stay for just a part of the performance. Admission free for Music Society Members - show card at door. Others: £4.00 at door.
